The iPhone 5 


In September 2012, Apple introduced the iPhone 5, which has a larger screen, faster wireless Internet speeds and a more powerful chip. The new iPhone, which went on sale Sept. 21, starts at $199 with a two-year wireless contract, as have previous versions of the device. Apple said the new device is 18 percent thinner and 20 percent lighter than the previous version of its smartphone.
